Per the article, below, those in the know are reportedly saying that XU's return to the gridiron is "likely to happen" and that the timetable is within the next couple of years. They're expected to compete in the FCS Pioneer League along with Butler, Davidson, Drake, Dayton, Marist, Morehead State, Presbyterian, St. Thomas, San Diego, Stetson, and Valparaiso.

XU's football program previously existed from 1900-1973, with the 1944 and 1945 years scrubbed by the Second World War.

Wonder what, if any, effect this would have on the programs at Mt St. Joseph and Thomas More. Don't see it having any on UC, they are too much of a known "power" now.

One thing I can say for sure, I'd rather have a diploma from Xavier than Thomas More or Mount St. Joe.

I like it. It's as close to home as Thomas More and should be an easy ticket to get. Plus the football should be better.
