4A Wayne Co (3-1) travels to 4A #10 Warren East (5-0) on Friday.

East has out scored opponents 243-31 through five weeks and coming off a 47-12 district win over Russell County.

Wayne County enters on a two game winning streak and looking to come to the Smurf turf for a win.

Thoughts?

Warren East should win about 31-14.

Thanks for putting this game on here Bill!

I really haven't paid much attention to the Raiders this year, but I think now if the time.

243-31 is a crazy disparity in scores.  Those opponents aren't real strong, but they won those so easily that East should be able to complete for the District and Regional titles.

SO QB Dane Parsley is one of the better players in the state most know nothing about, but the Raider signal caller has been very impressive this year throwing for 865 yards and 17 TDs vs only 1 INT.  He's also rushed for 453 yards and 10 TDs.  WOW!

Calpreps says Warren East 35 - Wayne Co 24.

So it should be a good game!

Go Raiders!

Agreed on Parsley.

City of Bowling Green is the home for stud sophomore quarterbacks. Dane Parsley and Duece Bailey seem to be the cream of the crop.

I think this will be good for East in the sense that it’s good for a team who has been cruising to feel some resistance. I expect Wayne to challenge East and force them in to uncomfortable situations. Which will be very good for everyone involved.

I like the CalPreps prediction, as well as @Tkinslow’s prediction. I’m gonna find myself somewhere in the middle of that and say 28-20 Warren East.

Bailey, Parsley, Button and Huff all sophomores starting this year at their respective schools. Really bright futures for all of them.

I'm intrigued by this Warren East team, but their opponents are 3-23 this year. All you can take from that is that they're good enough to blow out bad teams. But are they top ten worthy? This game will at least begin to clear things up a little.

I'd love to see them run the table and splash some blue on a 4A canvas that's been mostly black and gold in recent years. It may be asking too much for the Raiders to compete with Boyle, JC, or Corbin this year, but they're a fresh, new face to follow. And in my book, that's a good thing in a sport that's often predictable.

I agree in the sense that this game will give us a better indication of how serious the Raiders are. That being said, the east side of the state with all the black and gold you speak of may be a bit outside their range.

Of course, they would still have to get there first. That would include beating Franklin Simpson, which hasn't been done in a decade, combined with potentially getting past Logan Co/Hopkinsville in round two. Then you have to take in the fact they would potentially draw Central/Franklin Co in the third round if they happened to make it that far.

We will see. But there are a few obstacles and if you ask me, some tall hills to get over before we discuss them splashing any kind of blue on the 4A championship canvas.

Definitely not expecting a championship or even a semifinal run. But if they're sitting there at 10-0, 11-0, maybe 12-0, they'll at least have people talking. It's nice just to have someone new to follow. Long road ahead, but it's been promising so far.
