Hart

Taylor

Glasgow

Casey

Adair

IMO the closest district in the KHSAA

This may very well be true.  I also think District 1 of Paducah Tilghman, Union County, Webster County, and Trigg County maybe the strongest from top to bottom.  This was definitely the upset of the night in my book.

Hart Co is a good team. They came in with a excellent game plan and kept Glasgow’s offense off the field. They had double the time of possession. The Scotties seemed like a one man team tonight as Stockton had over 200 yards on only about 12 or 13 carries. So with the game on the line they decided they would do something different. On first down from the HC 16 with time running out they fumble the snap on second down attempt  to pass on second down after only completing one the whole night and the quarterback falls down at the line of scrimmage. On third down they finally run Stockton and pick up 7. So you would think they would surely run him on 4th and 3 right. No they run a quarterback bootleg he gets smashed and it’s ballgame. Congratulations to Hart Co they deserved to win for the first time since 1988 and only the second time ever. Glasgow has major problems on defense as it seemed Hart only ran two plays all night but hey if they ain’t stopping it then why stop doing it.

Hart County has improved alot since last season.  I was expecting a close game. Honestly, really wasn't expecting them to pull it off. Great win for that program, and something they can most definitely build on the rest of the season.

Glasgow will bounce back. Can't wait to see the Taylor Co match-up.

I would say that this is the best Hart Co team ever. I must admit I don’t know a lot about their history but I can’t ever remember them having a good team ever. They might’ve had some seasons around 500 but that’s about it. The thing about this team it seems they are mostly juniors and sophomores so they may be even better next season.

I expect at least one more break out season next year. Possibly even better then this season. There kids have heart, and the willingness to win.

They're very close to becoming the best team in history. They've won seven regular season games four times (1978, 1983, 1988, 2018) but never more. They've made twelve playoff appearances without a win. The closest playoff margin was a 28-20 loss to Webster County in 1999.

I’ve seen most of the Hart County teams in the last 20 years, this is by far the deepest and most explosive one I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure they can stop Taylor enough to win, but they will be competitive. I knew Hart was improved and returned a great amount of talent from last year, and they have put it together this year. I still didn’t believe they would pull the upset this year, and believed it would most likely be next year, as they are still a junior and sophomore dominated team, but they will be a top 5-7 team to start 3a next year for sure, as they return the house.

They very well could lose to Casey and Taylor or beat both. I don’t see anyway they lose to Adair. Green County dominated Adair in a scrimmage and did whatever they wanted for the most part with them, and you all know how the Hart and Green game went. Glasgow is still a very good team, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they still don’t lose a another game until the regional finals or the semi state.

Let me just throw my little plug in here: Hart County started a wrestling program last year and had nice participation by the football team.

Transfer of training is always a good thing.  My pops coached football, wrestling and track, and strongly encouraged guys to participate in multiple sports.

Fast forward a generation.  I was on the wrestling team, just barely good enough to earn a letter.  Several teammates also played football and lacrosse (the philosophy of our lax coach, who is enshrined in the Lacrosse HOF, was to approach  linebackers, defensive backs and running backs and put sticks in their hands).

But the best football player in the class of ‘73 - good enough to play in the NFL for nine years - tinkered with the idea of joining the wrestling team his senior year.   Chucked that idea after a couple of practices.  Ask just about anyone who wrestles and participated in at least one more sport.  Wrestling practices are the toughest.

When I posted this is the most talented and deepest Hart County team I’d seen, I didn’t even realize that the best two running backs for Hart County didn’t even play in this game.

Jordan Bradley has been out since the first game, and is a big physical back who also is the fastest player on the team, and I figured they sat him out until district play, but he was again unavailable for this game. He’s a difference maker for them, and they only get better with him on the field.

The second best back for Hart county is Clark Rexroat who didn’t play. He’s the Swiss Army knife who can catch it, run it, and plays defense and never leaves the field. He’s super fast and makes plays all over the field for the Raiders. This bolds well for future success of the raiders if those guys are able to come back fully healthy.
