Great game and gameplan by the Royals. Wild how the other thread kind of got off topic, and took away from a very nice Mason win. Royals showed tonight they are still the king of the 10th region, and the rest are still chasing them!! Sad to see a fine MCIT final and a resounding MC victory reduced to a "why can't we be competitive too" discussion??

 

Congrats to the Royals on a fine showing tonight, and hats off to Mason for setting the rest of the region straight as to who's boss in the 10th!! BBHS will go back to work!!

You have to admit Brossart's Jimmy Uebel did a good job on Darius defensively. I'm really looking forward to the rematch of these two teams onn Febuary 13th. Should be another physical game between what is two really good teams.

 

Brossart will bounce back. They will not quit, Coach Code will not allow that.

 

No one said that Uebel didn't have a good defensive game but a double double is just that, a solid performance.

I think the other thread would have survived had it not turned into a BB /CC thread picking at each other.Good win Royals.

That was NICE. Uebel will surely be on a recruiting highlight for Mason Co.'s Darius Miller. Can you say ATHLETIC???

Some BBHS fans thought that Darius cleared the way with a forearm/elbow to Uebel's chin. I could not tell either way but Uebel was removed from the game by the officials becuse he was bleeding. Still Darius is fun to watch.:thumb:

I was just saying "you have to admit". No question that Brossart's plan was to take Darius out of the game, but he sure did a great job of doing the "little thing" to help his team to victory in this one. He played a complete game (I"ll say he left me with more to be desired in the 5-3 Classic). But he played excellent defense and rebounded very well.

It didn't really matter by that point in the game...

 

Brossart wasn't going to win, but effort wise you have to say they left it on the floor dispite a serious off night in the first half.

Setty - 6'5"; 160 pounds soaking wet. Deadly from distance

Miller - 6'6", 'nuff said

Middleton - 6'3". Has been slowed just a little with a bug the last two nights. More evident in the HC game

Pawsat - 6'3" or 6'4"; often defends the opponent's top post player. The 10 he scored in the first half vs. HC was an uncharacteristic eruption; although if you watch him in practice and warmups he seems pretty smooth

Scott - 5'8" (in his shoes) senior. His quickness; esp. on defense, will be missed next year

True that; they have basketball bodies for sure. Long arms allow them to play a couple inches over their actual height.

 

While he may have had an off night tonight (he was absolutely worn out); I'd love to see a couple of Troy Cooper-type bodies on the Royals' roster. You don't win the shot-put in the state track meet by being a weakling.

He had an off night because Mason Co.'s defensive game plan. It obviously was double team Troy Cooper and challenge the other four to score points.
