Should Trinity have won this game? Maybe. Will they learn from this and grow in games to come? Certainly. Is Jay deserving of all the blame for the outcome in this game? Not even close. Trinity will continue to get better and more healthy and when both of those two points collide, this will be the team to beat in 6A in 2022.

NL Tanker is 100% correct. If you think we are being harsh, listen to the Trinity radio team. They commented on head scratching calls by the Trinity coaches multiple times and on key plays. They call it straight and are not homers. Coaching staff is not good enough. Use of timeous is flat out bewildering.

I was one of the first to say I didn’t think this was a great hire, and I still feel that way for the most part. As I have a feeling better pedigree coaches applied and I feel Trinity could have gotten a better overall coach. 

With that said, Coach Cobb just ran off a 3-1 record before this game with arguably one of the toughest schedules in all of the Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky area. The coaching staff obviously can coach to some extent or you don’t win those games against the teams they have played. 
I also think all of this disappears if Trinity wins a state title, as I suspect they very well might do. I wish the Shamrocks success for the rest of the season.

I was obviously being a bit sarcastic with that statement, it’s obvious Coach Cobb can coach, he has won to many games for that not to be true. I also still think Trinity makes the title game this year, and wins it all, if the starting QB comes back fully healthy. 

I think Deuce hit the nail on the head with how I feel about the hire of Coach Cobb with his earlier comment. Trinity could have looked nationally and chose the easy way out with hiring Coach Cobb. Nothing against him or the staff, I just felt Trinity could have done better. Either way, it wouldn’t have been an easy task for any Coach or staff to follow the Bob Beatty regime, and I doubt we will ever see anything like what he did at Trinity ever again.

Honestly I never really thought about that until your comment, I wouldn't think it should matter, but It very well might have influenced the decision. Sort of the we can hire a KY guy and win a title too type deal.

This is just curiosity on my part, but does anyone on here know if they took many applications from national coaches and if they ever even really considered them? Did they get any top state coaches to apply? I never really heard.

0% chance of that. The right guy was right here.

That being said, Wallace was probably the best public school coach we went up against in KY. Him or Mueller, but I'd tip it to Wallace.
