Israel Prepares Nuclear Strike

Featured Replies

The plan itself is excellent. Small tactical nukes with burrowing capabilities destroys the target with minimal radioactivity. However, I think the bad publicity of using nukes will be devasting to Israel's status in the world. They may find their few friends condemning them and turning their backs on them. One other fear I have is that the use of any nukes opens the floodgates for others to use them.

While Ahmedinejad is seemingly begging for a strike against his country from Israel, I'm afraid he is trying to manipulate them. Muslim and Arab countries, whose goals and desires are often very different, rally around their hatred of Israel. If Israel goes through with an attack, however warranted, it will only serve to stir up increasingly greater animosity. Especially with the use of a nuclear weapon. Of course there won't be pictures of mushroom clouds to be plastered onto every TV set, but the mere mention of a "nuclear attack" sets fire in many people. I'm afraid Israel, and us by our alliance, are faced with an impossible task. Wait for Iran to be a nuclear power and accomplish their goal of "wiping Israel off the map," or make a tactical strike at their nuclear plants which will serve to amplify the hatred of the U.S. and Israel even more in that region.

I'm behind Israel on this. You do what it takes to remove the risk of your country being ANNIHILATED.

If I'm Israel, there isn't even any second thought as to my course of action. You live within easy striking distance of the missiles from Iran that can deliver a nuclear payload, they have a government that rattles it's sabre at every opportunity (threatening to wipe you off the face of the earth), and they are a theocracy led by a fool that plays to the religious intolerance of the population. Easy call for me, if I'm sitting in Israel's big chair.

I'd bomb their nuclear facilities with whatever I needed to accomplish the job, and I wouldn't even bother worrying about the political fallout. The alternative for them is simply unacceptable.

PS - you might want to consider investing in those oil company stocks...

Nobody, including us, can go on the record as backing Israel....

Israel waiting on the United States to help them is suicide. Heck, I don't have faith in the United States having what it takes to save ourselves anymore. And another thing, if anyone had the power to destroy Israel, they already would have done it. Israel knows this and that's why they are the toughest out there...

Very good post, you said it much better than me...and I made my post before I read this...Israel long ago quit depending on anyone else to protect them...

I don't expect Israel to hesitate if they feel their existence is threatened. No other country in the world has to face a realistic threat against it's very existence. Besides, a nuclear strike by Israel isn't going to change their world much. The Arab countries can't hate them any more and they already attack every chance they get.

If this happens gas prices in the US will be $10-20 a gallon

Maybe then the citizens will be more conscious and not drive the SUV's that get 10 GALLONS PER MILE.

I find it real hard to find sympathy for a country that continues to purchase vehicles that get less than 15 miles per gallon for any reason other than business. Or gives their teenager $30 for gas so they can drive around in a circle and go cruising.

If the Israelis nuke the heavy water plant, the Iranians can always buy another from the Russians.

What does SUV's and teenagers cruising around in circles got to do with anything? Neither have anything to do with the price of gas or the fact that Israel may use "THE BOMB".

IF you were to plan a nuclear attack against another nation. Would you warn them and post your intentions in "The Sunday Times" as Israel seems to have done?

That'd be like Bin Laden telling us he's planning on blowing up the Capitol Building 3 weeks before he does it.

That's a weird strategy.
