January 6, 200719 yr There is great joy on here with EVERY D__e loss from a large number of UK fans... I will admit, I enjoy watching several teams lose. Duke, UNC, Indiana, Louisville, the Steelers, the Cowboys, the Browns, the Indians, the and several others to a much lesser degree... Sounds like a topic for another thread...
January 6, 200719 yr I also admit that I enjoy watching Duke lose. Only because I hate all those Coach K commercials. I would say those commercials give him a recruiting edge, and just don't think its right. I'd feel the same way if it were Tubby in those commercials.
January 6, 200719 yr OK we got one response from someone who likes to see EVERYONE lose and one who likes to see Duke lose not because of UK, but because of TV commercials...keep 'em coming, good stuff...

A major company wants you to endorse their product, and you take the money to do so. The message delivered is what AmEx wanted to be the message for their service. It is in no way shape or form a recruiting edge. Do you really think any kid would pick D__e because of a commercial? Comical....

January 6, 200719 yr Don't forget cville and Tcat... What about TCat? I don't root against Duke.. UK rarely plays them and other than I almost always pull for the underdog in general, I don't get excited to see them lose. However I do think the media bias they get is comical, but that's not all their fault. But thanks for speaking for me. :irked: UNC is a different story.. However I respect their program, I just like to see them lose because they are #2 behind UK in all time wins.

January 6, 200719 yr ^^98% of UK fans spend less than three minutes per year thinking about Duke. :thumb: But that number highly increases with every Duke loss. there is joy in Muddville!!!!
January 6, 200719 yr Like it or not big business sees him as the face of the sport... I want to meet the guy who gets an American Express card because he sees the Coach K commercial...I mean really...

January 6, 200719 yr Like it or not big business sees him as the face of the sport... I agree that businesses put him in the spot light. I just had more respect for the guy before all these advertisements started (Chevy, American Express).
