If Pikeville loses in week 2 and starts 0-2, will they still be #1? The losses wil be against two ranked bigger school opponents.

I would say it depends on the margin of loss this week (if they lose) and how well Raceland does against Russell.

What if Raceland loses to Russell? Russell has a 3 game winning streak. 
 

I'm interested in matchups 5-7.  Newport Central Catholic let me down last week. I had high expectations for them this season.

Then Pikeville stays at number one almost no matter what.

NewCath has another competitive game this week so we shall see.

Pikevilles strength of schedule is off chart.  Next week we shall see how they fair against a potential Class 1A playoff matchup in Paintsville.. 

Hoping to see Paintsville keep it respectable against Beechwood this week.

I agree Pikeville plays a great schedule and I would not hold my breath this week on Paintsville, that is probably running clock territory.

If Beechwood’s defense is good as they say it is I don’t see that happening.

I think Raceland might have a valid argument if they beat Russell by a couple of scores. Paintsville breaking a 20+ game win streak on Beechwood's home field would probably make a decent case for #1. Not sure anyone else in the class would have a leg to stand on.
