The Mad South Eagles open up the season hosting a consensus 5A top-ten Southwestern Warriors squad that is returning a load of talent. While many are overlooking this matchup, there is going to be a lot to watch for on Friday night. The Eagles are coached by Mark Payne who served as Jason Foley's defensive coordinator for 5 years at Taylor County and Southwestern respectfully. Now, in Payne's first game as a head coach, he gets a chance to be on the opposing sideline against his old boss.

Heard only one guy will be out for them. The rest are playing.
