Thad Matta back to Butler

Featured Replies

I thought Thad had dealt with some difficult health issues that had caused his leaving the coaching profession. Apparently he's doing better, or right place, right time provided a cure. Good coach. Good luck!!

Yes and no. Neither Butler nor XU were in the Big East when those coaches were there. So yes bringing back coaches but not as Big East members the first time around.

Matta is only 54 years old. I would have guessed him in his 60's.

I know, but they are in the BEAST now, and hiring old coaches.  Will we see JT3 back with the Hoyas, or god help us 93-year-old Lou Carnasecca back in Queens? :classic_laugh:

If so, hopefully another Ray.  Joey drove that program so far into the ground they still haven't really dug themselves out.
