2007 Bath County

Featured Replies

What does Bath County need to do to improve in 2007? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

The Wildcats need to continue their hard work and dedication to their off season strength and conditioning program. Participation as well as the intensity level has been excellent for the past month. Last season's success has definitely boosted the enthusiasm throughout the entire program. It had been quite a while since their was any excitement over the Wildcat Football Program. Bath finished 2006 with 45 players (9-12). In 2004 there were 17 players dressed for the final game of the season. They should dress 60+ for 2007. The foundation is very solid at the youth level in Bath County. Very well structured flag and JFL programs (180+ kids in grades K-6) have been coordinated from the top down for over 7 years. The varsity should start to really benefit in a couple of years. The key for this year's success will depend on how well the leadership roles, vacated by graduation, are filled by this year's seniors.

How many seniors did Bath have? Who are some of thier top returners? What is the schedule for 2007?

The Wildcats lose 8 to graduation. They return several starters and others with substantial varsity minutes. These include; Metz QB/LB, Clemons RB/DB, Fryman TE/LB, Karrick LB, Baber RB/DB, Bromagen OL/DL, Roberts WR/DB, Given WR/S, Wilson OL/DL, Copher OL/DL, Goldie OL/DL, Wetzel OL/DL, Crouch FB/DL. Several of next season's sophomores should also be ready for the step up.

You are correct oldonetechnique. I am sure there are lots of teams that could use another Stevens!

How do they shape up for this season? Was last season a fluke?

Bath County does move up to 2A this season. Their district consists of Morgan County, Prestonsburg, and Shelby Valley. I may be biased, but Last year was not a fluke. They were a pretty solid team at 7-4. Their team speed and strength have improved a bunch this off season. They seem to have a group of seniors that are leaders. It could be an interesting season in Owingsville.

They got out of the district with Raceland and LCA so that should help.

Seems like a reasonably balanced district to me. A couple of potential LOOONNNGG road trips, however.

Good luck to the Bath County football team this upcoming season, I will miss our (Raceland's) series with Bath. Bath did show a lot of improvement last season, things look to be on the rise in Owingsville :thumb: . I hope that it continues.

Bath Co. will have a good year in 2007. Their schedule is very week. The coaching staff does a great job. how do you think the rival game between Nicholas and Bath will be in 2007
