This game shows how much Colin Porter means to Ashlands team. With Porter playing Ashland Probably wins tonight. But Ashland has several guys besides Porter who can hit the 3. This is a very good win for Russell even without Porter.

Yes, Porter is a critical component to the Tomcats success.
Also, Cole Villers playing at about 60-70% on a knee that has hindered him all season.
But I thought Russell forced Ashland into playing their game, their pace, which is to keep the score in 50’s or 60’s. Russell played good defense and Ashland missed a lot of shots that they normally make. And Russell played physical and rebounded well. It was just one of those nights for Ashland where a lot didn’t go right but give the Devils the well deserved credit for that. I still thought the Tomcats had it won in regulation with the ball and a 3 point lead with less than a minute left to play but they turned it over and Bell hit a 3 to tie the game and send it to overtime. And the rest is history.
I believe it was Ashland’s first loss to a 16th region team in the last 40 games.

I think 43 games was the streak against 16th.
