New rankings just came out this morning from the Lexington Hearld. I don't put much into these rankings, but thought some of you would like to see them.

I see why you dont put much in these as Mason is rated higher then LexCath and they just lost to them.:sleep:

And Louisville Central is rated much higher than Russell, even though Russell

beat them by 16

Those ratings are way, way off.

Perry Central is rated #1 in the 14th, but Hazard beat them at Perry Central???? That doesn't make sense.

Did Bolus have a vote in the Cantrell Rankings?:scared:

I would have to disagree with these rankings. I would say that the Louisville rankings are a lot more accurate! The 12th is really messed up.

Where is Clark?

Male should be ranked #2 in state. GRC not even ranked and have beat #9 South Laurel and # 19 Holmes. Lost to #7 Madison Central in OT. Only other lost was to Male. States that strenght of schedule is a factor, but in many cases this dosn't seem to be a factor. More of W and L. and then that is questionable.

G.R.C. has beaten several teams in the top 20 and they're not even rated. I think a lot of thes ratings are based on what went on last year' season and not what's going on now.

Louisville rankings are off too...

 

Louisville Central loses to Russell by and Lou Central has a 4 game losing streak that includes losses to 3 unranked teams.

 

Central 73.8 rating compared to the 16th's top team Russell with a 68.1.

 

If Russell was in the 6th Region they would be ranked 8th in the 6th.

 

Even if you placed Russell in the 7th Region, they would be rated as the 10th best in the 7th. Go figure!

 

The Cantrell rankings also rewards teams for building wins against lesser opponants in the holiday tourneys. While somewhat penalizing teams for going outside the state and not including those wins.

I agree with you Sunrise. Male should be no doubt #2 and GRC is getting no love from Cantrell. I think the played Male tougher than Lex Cath. They made a great showing at the 5th/3rd making it to the semis all without Jones. If they get him back before the end of the year we may see them at Rupp.
