December 27, 200619 yr Author If Pittman were suspended, it would be more than 'oh well, someone else will step up.' I don't think much of Florida's chances, but they do have speed on defense, and a power back like Pittman would be important for tO$U. If you would have read the whole post you would see I stated that it would hurt the Buckeyes. Anyone who follows the Buckeyes or college football knows that. It wasn't a ho hum statement as you preferred to call it. I simply stated as a "positive" post that the demise of others can open doors for someone else. You are correct, Florida does have speed on defense and will create problems for the Bucks with or without Pittman or Wells. PS... The $ sign is real cute:rolleyes:

December 27, 200619 yr If they are suspended the Buckeyes will be hurt but at the same time it will open up a chance for someone else to step up and prove they have talent also. I think that Tressel will do whatever the NCAA and the University recommend. 'IF" they are suspended for the tiltle game it will hurt, that is for certain but Ohio State probably has reserves that can play most anywhere else in the country and be front line starters. This is the same thing that I had said before the season when everyone was doubting the defense due to them losing so much from last years squad and look at the Bucks defense this year., Ohio State doesn't rebuild, they reload.:flame: GO BUCKEYES, GO TRESSELL!!!!!!!!:ylsuper:

December 27, 200619 yr "Beanie Time":fight: OOPS! My Bad. I thought it was M. Wells and not Chris who was in trouble. I guess I need to "Pay" better attention. "Pay" get it?...........Just poking fun at ourselves. We Buckeyes can laugh at ourselves when we want to. With that said, the Bucks will deal with the situation and I personally will reserve judgement untill ALL the FACTS have been uncovered. One More to Go! OH-IO
December 27, 200619 yr Title should read Buckeye. Maybe a mod can change it, please Ohio State players Antonio Pittman and Chris Wells may have violated NCAA rules when they attended a fund raiser to help raise money for their family to attend the Championship Bowl game. Both players left before the event was completed. Pittmans mother phoned one of the Buckeye assistant coaches and informed them they were at the dinner and was told by the assistant that the NCAA didn't allow fund raisers for families of football players. The money raised was donated by the families to a local little league football team. Ohio State immediately notified the NCAA of the players attending the fund raiser. I am sure we will hear more. Who wants to go first? Just thought we all might need to keep this in perspective. I have been at work all day. Checked the wire several times and still no to report. It has been posted on ESPN.com however.

December 28, 200619 yr Regardless of whether any type of punishment is in order, this is a pretty dumb move by both Pittman and Wells.
December 28, 200619 yr Regardless of whether any type of punishment is in order, this is a pretty dumb move by both Pittman and Wells. I sure can't argue with that. Also, imo as a poster stated earlier the parents were the ones that ask them to do this - they should had been more informed also.

That's what gets me. How can you not call and check in the planning stage of this? A vacation is not a charity. I'm sure they wanted to see their kids play for a title in person, but they got very close to making sure there was no way for that to happen...
December 28, 200619 yr Last night it was reported all players will be playing in the Buckeyes win over the Gators.
