If Pittman were suspended, it would be more than 'oh well, someone else will step up.' I don't think much of Florida's chances, but they do have speed on defense, and a power back like Pittman would be important for tO$U.

If you would have read the whole post you would see I stated that it would hurt the Buckeyes. Anyone who follows the Buckeyes or college football knows that. It wasn't a ho hum statement as you preferred to call it. If they are suspended the Buckeyes will be hurt but at the same time it will open up a chance for someone else to step up and prove they have talent also. I think that Tressel will do whatever the NCAA and the University recommend.

Ohio State players Antonio Pittman and Chris Wells may have violated NCAA rules when they attended a fund raiser to help raise money for their family to attend the Championship Bowl game. Both players left before the event was completed. Pittmans mother phoned one of the Buckeye assistant coaches and informed them they were at the dinner and was told by the assistant that the NCAA didn't allow fund raisers for families of football players. The money raised was donated by the families to a local little league football team. Ohio State immediately notified the NCAA of the players attending the fund raiser. I am sure we will hear more. Who wants to go first?

I sure can't argue with that. Also, imo as a poster stated earlier the parents were the ones that ask them to do this - they should had been more informed also.

That's what gets me. How can you not call and check in the planning stage of this? A vacation is not a charity. I'm sure they wanted to see their kids play for a title in person, but they got very close to making sure there was no way for that to happen...
