Katie did play great, pretty much like she did against St. Henry in the Region. She plays with her heart and all out, all the time, and I love watching her play.

 

My problem with Darpel, (note she is as good of a practice coach as you could what to have, and is as nice of a person as there is around) but she doesn't seem (IMO) to think ahead in the game, but just at the moment during the game, and she doesn't use her time outs very well.

 

The player who impressed me the most on the Boone team (other than your daughter) was the freshmen number 34. That young lady, will be starting by the end of the season as your point guard. She really impressed me....

Jacy will and should be the point guard for the rest of her high school career. I think she often doesn't get the credit she deserves. She is one of the most focused players I have ever watched and has such game smarts on top of that!!! She is extremely talented and works on her game 24/7/365!! Also a class act!!

Anyone who thinks Jacy wouldn't be the point guard on this team simply doesn't know basketball. Very, very talented and a very very savy player.

 

 

I would hate to be a point guard freshman behind a talented player like her.

Congrats to the Lady Rebels on a great win. Really enjoy watching them play. Cirlce Feb. 9th on your calendar as the Lady Royals from Mason come visiting. Should be a great ballgame to be sitting in the bleachers for. Boone spoiled senior nite for Mason last year but man oh man what a game. Look forward to the rematch.

 

Much as I support the Lady Royals, they look to me to be a notch or two behind the Lady Rebels this year. They miss Miranda Hales' quickness more than a lot of folks thought they would, and still have not addressed the lack of a bench (and if they haven't by now, they probably won't.

 

Dee Chambers and Lacey Cline can play for just about anyone, however; in fact, the starting 5 plus their first option off the bench are all really nice players. Things get dicey after that; and any kind of foul trouble will spenn curtains for the Lady Royals against a team of Boone County's caliber.

Simply put Jacy is the best point guard to ever play at Boone and their has been some very good ones! Barring an injury or something fluke she will never have to worry about starting or playing time issues.

Jacy doesn't get the respect she deserves only because she doesn't score enough. She is a coaches dream in a lot of respects. She sees the floor like noone else. She makes passes that I haven't seen a lot of college girls make. She very easily could have been the state assist leader last yr. as a freshman. IF the girls catch the ball and make the bunnies she will be the assist leader this yr. as a sophmore. I seen her shred a full court defense which was ranked #1 in the country . The other team threw everything they had at her and she only had a couple of turnovers the entire game.

We will be watching her play D1 in a couple more yrs.

Coach Fookes has helped her and will continue to help her as she comes along.

Jacy is a very hard worker. Sorry so long but i could add a few more things she is a class act!!
