In a surprising twist to the current saga surrounding the University of Louisville basketball program, head coach Chris Mack has been suspended by the university.

The school announced a six-game suspension, which is a total of 20 days without pay, to start the season for Mack, who is beginning his fourth season as the head coach at U of L.

This seems to be the short explanation. 

The University concluded that while Mack was a victim of an extortion attempt by former assistant coach Dino Gaudio, Mack failed to follow University guidelines, policies, and procedures in handling the matter. The sanctions imposed upon Coach Mack are unrelated to the extortion attempt itself and the ongoing NCAA process.

No one looks good.   But I guess if this is related to him not handling the extortion thing properly, then the punishment is warranted.   Serve it and move on.
