Wow - I looked and their ratings are jacked up.

From an O perspective - I was really impressed by Barksdale, Taylor and Carbon at the RB position and all the WR's (I still think Early will catch fire too)  Great catches by Rogers, Goodwin and Pendleton.  I look for a renewed focus on defense - usually one of the Owensboro staples.  Maybe Goodwin at MLB?  Gough?  I might switch Goodwin and Williams to MLB/OLB.  Who knows, but I'm sure the staff will make some adjustments.  With the run game, the pass game opens up - O, if clicking will be almost impossible to stop for most teams on their schedule.

I look for some ferocious D from the Devils this week (after missing 10 days for CoVid and the BG scrimmage before the X game - the effects were felt vs. X).  Better conditioning and a game under their belt should help - although this week will be a hot one.

Yeah, weights heavy historical results to start season so probably take some games to get more accurate.

I was thinking the same. O’s strength on D is playing the pass. I look for the Devils secondary to have a show out night. Clark plays the flats second to none in the area definitely overlooked and under mentioned. Carbon, Taylor and Moorman in the secondary are all ball hawks, I don’t think passing a lot would be in Apollo’s best interest.
 
I also know coach edge is aware and will more than likely have a different game plan than he did vs Catholic. I see a lot of runs out of the spread coming. Don’t know how mobile Apollo’s QB is but I can see some designed QB runs also to attack the middle of the defense which IMO is the weakest part of our defense.
 

Still there’s to much going for the Devils even if Apollo does manage to get a few scores on the board they won’t be able to keep up with O’s high octane offense especially after the confidence that Goodwin and Pendleton must have after having considerably nice varsity debuts against a Louisvillee powerhouse to add. I look for them both breakout seasons along with Rogers(which is to be expected).

@DevilsFanyep, I agree.  I think I would move Clark, Goodwin or Barksdale to the middle with X. Early and swap Williams.  You hate to lose Clark in secondary because of speed and strength but they may have to.  I love the secondary- but when Carbon and Johnson (both safeties) are your leading tacklers, you had a rough week at MLB.  I though Hines played good on the line too.
