SK 74 Walton 51

Featured Replies

I belive that was the final score, but the game was not even this close. Walton stayed within ten in the first quarter and seemed to have a good game plan. But in the second Daugherty and Roberts both picked up there second fouls and went to the bench (which they both should have stayed in till they fouled out) When they went to the bench so did the scoring. The guards for Walton have no bussiness even being on the floor with SK. I believe the Walton guards had some of the best assist it was just to the wrong team. lol SK really does have a shot at state this year.

The Walton guards did throw a few horrible passes, but I think the that Josh Hurd for SK was just too much to handle. Every shot taken near him was either blocked or altered. He also scored at will down low.

I agree.. Hurd was the big factor... if they didnt have him then walton would have been way closer.. but they do so best of luck to both teams for the rest of the year.. i just want to see how sk does in the 5/3 tourny.!!

This is definitely a strong team. I would like to see more production out of their two guard spot and a little more scoring from the bench. Most nights it is Hurd, Elbert and Hester. One of the biggest things I have noticed this year is Hurd is more consistent. He almost took nights off last year. 5/3 will be a good test for them. I believe that their undefeated record includes wins over 4 of the top 10 teams in the NKAC but things definitely take a jump next week.

I agree with everyone. Daugherty seemed to be forcing things inside at Hurd trying to get him in foul trouble. Which that didn't happen. Roberts just couldn't get things going. He was open under the basket several times foir what could be an uncontested layup, but waltons horrible guard play didnt let that happen. Alot of turnovers for the guards of walton. I wish them luck in Florida next week. Hopefully they might be able to pull an upset or two.

SK needs to start shooting the ball better. Especially from behind the arc. If they can get the three ball falling down at the 5/3 they can play with any of those teams. Their not going to be able to just feed the ball to Hurd and expect him to dominate like he has up here. Teams down there will be bigger and better than the teams they have played so far. The guards will have to find their stroke down there.

Hurd was just to big inside for Walton to handle. With SK it is pick your poision if you double on Hurd, Hester and Elbert will kill you if try to stop them it opens the inside. Walton should of stuck with the zone and made SK win with outside shots. But when the guards for Walton turn over the ball so much everthing was a fast break so it did not matter.

Big test in front of SK, HC, then possibly Trinity then possibly MC....

Is Blevins still a member of the team? I haven't seen a game this season but from what I've read he hasn't been mentioned.

He got kicked off the team or left the team not sure for the reason. He was in the stands last night.

Ive heard rumors that he decided not to play this year. I have no reason why though. He could have been a help to this team.

Seth decided to leave the team for personal reasons.

He would have helped SK quite a bit this year especially since he is a good shooter and passer.

Blevins would have been a huge help, and its a shame that he wasn't able to finish out the last year of his career.

Hey Neerfan, I think this might be a alltime best start for Sk 8-0 is it???

Good question, I think the '81 lost a game early, not really sure about the '95 group, they were also pretty solid at 29-5. After a bit of research on KHSAA.org, they started out (17-0) in '97, too bad HHS was in the region.

That was quite possibly our theme for SK hoops while I was growing up, 03 season ROCKED though, until the THIRD loss to St. Henry, blah...
