Scott HS 90 Silver Grove 67

Featured Replies

Very fast paced game. Sharp had a great game with 24 or 26 points and 5-8 assists. Ryne Smith shot lights out from the three and made 4-6 of them. Good games from Quigley, Miller, and Felts. Felts is really coming around and getting more comfortable with every game.

SG's Pelle in foul trouble early in the second quarter. I think he ended up with 19, but he made 12 or 13 free throws and got most of his points in the 4th quarter after the game was way out reach. He is a good player but Scott's defense caused him a lot of trouble.

SG's Wiseman is a really good player and had a terrific game. He really suprised me! This kid can score.

About where i pegged this one 20+.Eagles are a good team.

Hopefully Scott will carry this over to tomorrow nights game against Lex. Tates Creek in the Defenders of the Station Tourny!

If the Eagle had just 1 legit big man that could work the inside they would be very very good.TC will most likely wont to run with you so it should be high scoring and fun.

Great game by Scott tonight. Kind of somber in the school after a rough day. Question for the Eagle faithful... Will any of you be taking your pc to the tournament the next couple of days and be able to keep us updated?

Would love to hear how the eagles fair down in this tourney.

How many did Quigly put up.

This is just a guess, but I would say 14-16.

Scott gives up way to many points, they can put points on the board but they dont guard very well at all...Mostly they let down in the second half and im going to say it probably has something to do with them only playing 7 guys but come late Feb Scott is going to lose alot of Games because of lack of having a bench and that is a concern,,,If they dont develope one now it may hurt them at the end of this season and they will lose 6 seniors next year and the onlly other guy they play is a 5"10 soph and Scott will strugglt next year for their lack of experiance....I like Scott but late in the second half against Dixie they were worn out and slow their close outs were weak and its not like teams are making good shots they are getting layups,,,,,They put up 99 on Harrison CO but give up 66 and give up 67 tonight....It makes you wonder how much a team like Henry Clay may put up against them....Great Job Scott on getting a district win, Nate Sharp and Chris quigley are fine players and Ryne Smith is on of the best shooters in NKY!!!!!! Make us proud and Win the tourney

While I don't disagree with you regarding their defense and bench, the only thing they can do is try to outscore teams because that is all they have right now. The fact is that Scott doesn't have a bench to play at this time. Like I said before, if they can get Tyler Baker fairly soon, it would be a big addition to their bench. Coach Carr is doing the best he can with what he has, and he does look to steal some minutes here and there for the starters, but that is the best it is probably going to get.

I thought they had a big man, just Carr doesn't use him. Played well in the first few games then hasn't put much time in since. Carr is falling into the same trap, playing only his "favorites". He has a deep bench, but won't use them. He would rather let his starters were down.

While I haven't had the opportunity to see Scott yet, I was one who felt they were a lot better than they were getting credit for early, and was right on that matter. While I realize they lack much of an inside presence, it doesn't sound like they are playing very good defense; which kind of surprises me, considering their coaching staff?? They definately give up a lot of points; is this their philosophy (let's outscore them), or are they just lacking on the "D" side of the ball?? It doesn't necessarily take size to play hard-nosed defense!!

I think that they are playing a trapping and aggressive defense which is transitioning into quicker and easy points. But by playing this style and a lack of a bench right now is making them tired in the second half and is causing break downs on defense and in turn means giving up easy baskets to the opposition.

Thanks, because I know Coaches Carr & Smith demand their players play some "D".

Their starters are basically 6'0" -6'3" and they don't have a big man(over 6'3") on their bench. So, what big man are you talking about? I don't think Coach Carr has favorites, but he does play his BEST players most of the time. By saying they have a deep bench is a very, very, far stretch!
