Bears down #7 Colts on Senior Night at Butler Traditional HS.

Based off this result, the 6th region tournament is going to be a good one. 

Surprising score.    Great win for the Bears.

LIT hangover for DeSales mixed with a pretty solid opponent in Butler. 

DeSales just ran the gauntlet of LIT so probably tired and/or overlooked Butler. Butler last played 3/3 so I’m sure they were fresh and pumped to play DeSales.

It was a classic "trap game".  Colts just coming off an unexpected upset & winning the LIT for the 1st time in school history, they were ripe for an upset. Kudos to the Bears, because they executed a good game plan.  The Colts have another tough one tomorrow. PRP is always tough and their defense is always tough to beat at home. Congrats Bears on a nice upset win.

Tonight's DeSales v PRP has just been posted as a "COVID cancelation" on the KHSAA scoreboard.

It was the last regular season game for the Colts. They have a chance to rest up and prep for 22nd District play with a finals rematch against Butler likely.

PRP closes out vs Butler on Friday, the last pre-district game for both.

I talked to someone whose son is on the team. They were told that the game was cancelled , but not because of Covid.  There should not be a quarantine.  It could be that because PRP had several Covid cancellations/postponements during the season, they wanted to avoid something going wrong the week before the District tournaments. I hope this person was correct!!

I've heard of other teams cancelling games to avoid any potential COVID contact right before districts - but those games are not marked as "COVID" on the khsaa site....   They simply don't say anything.....of course, communications are a bit messed up and the khsaa site has been unreliable all year.
