Russell 63 Fairview 58

Recommended Posts

Final.

I know nothing about this game besides the score. Seems a little closer than I would've expected.

I said earlier this week all Russells games are like this because of their syle of play on offense and the fact they do not apply much defensive pressure on the ball. They have the best athletes in the region and do not take advantage of them. They should win double digits easy in over 75% of their region games. This may be why they struggle outside the region against the better teams Any one remember the State Tournament

gotta to give credit to Alex Barker, he never quit and kept hitting big three's to try and give his team a shot, Cameron Hall also had to late 3's to help his team draw closer at the end. Fairview is going to get double digit wins this year, despite their youth

Now is this because they hung with your mighty Red-devils?

Agreed-But don't forget Fairview has some good young ones coming in Hall,Collins,Jackson and Stai.Over half the team is made up of Freshmen.

Yes they are young,Rex is doing a good job with this bunch.Look for this team to be at the top in the next year. Also with a little help to come.

If you notice they rarely trap out of their 1-3-1 even when the dribble has been picked up.I realize some may be disappointed in Russell but thay are still 5-0 which is a significant improvement over previous Decembers.

In The third quarter Frazier was in Barker's face the entire time. He never gave him room to get off the 3pt shot. Face it, Fairview was not going to beat Russell driving to the basket. In the fourth quarter Russell started sagging off to stop the drive. Hall and Barker hit three or four threes late to make it a much closer game. When you have a team down don't let up.
