Joe Burrow's recovery from knee surgery

Featured Replies

The Bengals released this statement today:

"Joe Burrow underwent successful surgery yesterday. The procedure went as planned and he is expected to make a complete recovery. Joe will begin the recovery process and we look forward to his return."

I would love to know more about what the surgeons found when they were inside Joe's knee, but I doubt we will.

I have heard and read many reports and the expectations are Burrow will be back for game 1 next year.

Usually if there is more damage than expected, once they get in there. Then usually you eventually hear about it. That there was more than expected, but they were still able to fix it all.

I’m guessing that with his surgery actually happening sooner than people thought, and with the only thing being said that it was successful. That it ended up being basically what they thought.

Bengals are very secretive.

Bengals are secretive. With that said if there was damage that was not expected, that could change things for Burrow. Things like that would usually leak out, especially with a star as big as Burrow.

Cincinnati has some of the best sports medicine and orthopedic surgeons in the country.  Why did the surgery take place in LA?  That tells me that the damage was very severe (even more than normal).

He went to a doctor that successfully fixed another star QBs knee, who had similar injuries as him. The surgeon who Burrow went to, was the same guy who fixed Tom Brady’s knee, when his knee got torn up. Which Tom Brady came back great after it. So he we went to a doctor that has shown he can get stars to come back and be stars.

I didn't know that was the same doctor who did Brady.  That makes sense to go to him.  BTW, I'm entitled to read whatever I like into things (just like you).  The Bengals organization is very upsetting.  They are poorly run and do not protect their assets.  Burrow is a very valuable commodity.  I care about the Burrow's diagnosis and long term health, just like the rest of those who remain Bengals fans.  So, cut me some slack.  Stop being critical of someone who is just making conversation and asking questions out loud.

I’m not sure if he was the one who did Palmers surgery or not. I just know he did Tom Brady’s.
