Depends who that one loss P5 team. If it’s an SEC, B1G, or ND then it’s an easy decision. Especially with ND because they would have to have beaten Clemson if they only had 1 loss. But I think it’d be very difficult to put a 1 loss Big 12 school in over UC with how bad that conference has looked and with how poorly they performed as a whole out of conference. Plus even an undefeated Pac 12 team will only have played 6 games and I think even that’s a debate that will be tough because of the number of games played. The way it sits right now if chalk holds up with Clemson, Bama, and OSU the only possible power 5 teams besides the PAC 12 and Big 12 with one loss would be Wiscy and A&M. I think A&M likely gets in over UC in that scenario but I don’t think it’s set in stone. 

I just think UC will need quite a bit of help to get in because of their schedule. They are UCF, IMO.

Agreed on them being UCF. I just think it’s an abnormal year that could end of benefitting UC. In a normal year where everyone is playing 12-13 games and we have marquee out of conference matchups, we wouldn’t be having this conversation about UC potentially getting in to the playoff. But if there ever was a year for a UC type school to make it, it’s this year. Not saying it will happen, but it’s definitely a talking point as we get further along in the season.

I don't think it will really be all that tough for them. An undefeated UC is not getting in over a 1-loss P5 team. 

I have been reading thru all the positive UC comments, exciting year for UC and their fans, but you seem to want to find the negative, is it you just don’t like them because there not UK or Louisville.

I'm a huge UC fan myself, but I'm going to unfortunately go with the @TheDeuce on this one.  It's not a matter of being negative.  UC deserves to continue to be in the conversation, but they better continue to beat their remaining opponents by good margins to build up "style points".  They can't afford close games (even if they win them).  Voters are always going to look toward a lessor team in a Power 5 conference before just a "good one" in a conference like the AAC.  In order to considered, I believe UC has to graduate from "pretty good" to "really, really good" in the remaining weeks of the season.  Then they might have an outside shot at a playoff if other Power 5 teams have bad losses.  UC needs more results like what happened with Oklahoma St.

I don't see why there's all the hate on UC's schedule. 

Memphis, Army, Tulsa, SMU, and UCF are all quality opponents and on par with or above any middle of the road P5 program this year.

Only difference in AAC and the P5 is there aren't two elite (top 10) programs at the top every year that you have to go through to win the conference.

After that, there's no difference in playing the above 5 and playing a schedule that consists of UCLA, Purdue, Georgia Tech, and Miss ST/Kentucky. 

Ok St barely beat Tulsa. UCF smoked Georgia Tech. This is a good conference, whether you want to admit it or not.
