Does anyone know if Beechwood still plans in playing this game next week?

 

If so, thoughts on how this one goes. 

Cancelled as of this morning. 

Will be interesting to see who/if Beechwood picks up to fill the opening. 

Don’t quote me but from a players mouth they have a possibility of playing a 6A school from NKY. I’ll let the week play out and see if what I heard is correct.

I’d assume due to being a red county for Covid. But I’m not exactly sure on the reasoning. Just my guess.

Who said they did? 

With the spiking COVID cases, my guess is the long bus trip was a factor,  especially if they are looking for another game.

Meade is looking for a game and I saw where Beechwood was too. I know for sure Meade didn’t pull out. If Beechwood is in the red then maybe Meade told them they couldn’t play them but if that’s the case how is Beechwood playing?

Being in a red county does not stop a team from playing. The decision to play or not rests with school administrations.

I believe Kenton County, where Beechwood is located, did go in the red Thursday.

Is it possible Meade County cancelled because of that?

Meade’s coach called Beechwood today and said they cannot play anyone that’s in a red county. Said it’s completely out of his hands, and that he wanted to let Beechwood know as early as possible so that both teams can try and find another game.

It’s a shame the game can’t be played, but at least both teams now have some time to try and find an opponent.

I just got confirmation that Beechwood didn’t wanna wait till Meade was in the clear (Meade makes determination on Thursday) which is understandable.
