Class 2A

It is only foreboding that as Halloween decorations and costumes are purchased at a rapid pace this week, the ominous sounding District of Death will come to a climax this Friday when Somerset hosts Lexington Christian Academy in a battle of the top two teams. The Eagles from LCA will limp in after a humbling loss against 5A Frederick Douglass. Meanwhile, Somerset enters fresh off a "look at me" statement victory over Danville. Last year LCA won the regular season tilt but Somerset got the last laugh on their way to a title in a pair of epic games.

Speaking of high stakes district tilts with revenge plots, Caldwell County will look to exact revenge over Murray for ending their 2019 season and keep alive hopes for a three-way tie. Murray still awaits a game with Mayfield, but the Tigers need a win to springboard their chances or avoid potentially putting themselves in position to travel to Princeton in the First Round. 

Owensboro Catholic put up a strong tussle but could not beat rival 5A foe Owensboro, but that should not derail them as the bigger picture game with the more to gain comes this week against surprising Hancock County. The Hornets are undefeated and looking to take the driver seat in the District.

AP Poll is absolute garbage. Breathitt at 3 makes no sense!
