March 15, 20206 yr NFLPA approved a 17 game regular season schedule this morning. Expanded playoffs is on the horizon also.
March 15, 20206 yr The NFLPA went with the route that every player gets a vote, with about 500 players not casting a vote. The CBA was a approved by a narrow margin and many of these players are miffed at the process by which it was approved. Proving yet again the owners are playing chess and the NFLPA is playing checkers.

Amazing that they care that little about their future. The decision by the player reps to send the contract to all dues paying members for a vote passed 17-14 with one abstention.

If not, I could possibly see a veteran who knows he's going to retire in the next year or two, say..."you know what, I'm not going to vote either way, since I'm not going to be here for the majority of this agreement. For you young bucks out there that want to play an extra game, I'm not going to stand in your way. And likewise, I'm not going to MAKE you play an extra game if you don't want to, either." Only scenario that I can come up with.

Issues affecting players for the rest of their lives, not just the next couple years on the field.
March 15, 20206 yr I think I read this right, 60% of players in the NFL play on minimum salaries. That’s insane. The deal does help somewhat the lowest earners, so that’s good.
