Wonderful high school game with regional tournament type atmosphere!

 

There was a scenario I had never seen and probably never will again. At the end of the third quarter Bourbon fouled a three point shooter. the horn had sounded and the shooter was sent to the line where he proceeded to miss all three shots. There were no other players from either team lined up for the shots as most believed the quarter had ended. however in a discussion prior to the shots .1 second had been added to the clock. The officials awarded a fourth free throw to the GRC player. Most seated in my area believed it was due to no players lined up along the lane. Really bizarre and I have no idea if it was correct to award the additional free throw or if my stated reason was truly the reason. Thoughts?

The shooting team doesn’t have to line up anyone. Perhaps BC player walked inside the 3 pt line creating a violation?
