PP1 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I'm convinced it does not take much baseball knowledge to be a writer. Someone felt it necessary to cast at HOF vote for JJ Putz and Brad Penny. There are also some writers out there that felt that Ken Griffey Jr, Randy Johnson, and Johnny Bench were not worthy of the hall of fame. But hey, Craig Wilson, Aaron Sele, and Jacques Jones received some votes.
MJAlltheWay24 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I'm not sure it's that they didn't feel like Griffey, Johnson, and etc. were worthy of the HOF. It's more that they just don't want to let it be unanimously. The whole thing seems dumb, but I don't really have a better solution.

Some of these guys also hold grudges against players that weren’t friendly to them and withhold votes to teach them a lesson.
TheDeuce Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Why don't we let current/former players/managers vote on who gets in the Hall of Fame? Who cares what a bunch of writers think?
