It was an ugly second half for the Lions, but they found a way to win. Again an ugly free throw shooting night. Ethan Faulkner's shot with 4 seconds left sealed the game for the Lions. Ethan had 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assist. Ferguson was close to 20 and 10 but not exactly on his stats.

It should have been , if not for some un for seen event that took place when east had a 9 to 7 lead that led to a 13 point elliott co. run.

I think Coach went away from the bench in the 2nd half.

I thought they did a great job off the bench. Elliott will need these boys to play like that all of the time. Hopefully Coach will give them a chance every game.

Elliott played some very selfish ball in the second half and East started making some shots. Mays will never use his bench or develop a bench. He never has. Elliott worked the ball well in the second half but then all of a sudden for no reason a player would just throw up a shot. They allowed East to get back in the game by not playing smart and it appeared a couple of kids were more intent on stats than on taking care of business and puting the game away when they had a chance. Rebounding and interior defense became a problem and East is not a big team. Some things are going to have to change for Elliott to make the run they made last year, Weddington is greatly missed and Mays needs to work on improving his bench and giving them a chance. Some starters looked tired and a little sloppy at the end and the free throw shooting was horrible.

Elliott Co. out rebounded East Carter. Not sure on the total number by the teams but Elliott won the rebounding battle. The reason East got back in the game was the difference in free throw shooting. East hit theirs and Elliott did not. East shot a ton in the second half also and didnt miss one.

These seem to be recurring themes already this season. I have a news flash for Elliott's players and coaches - if you don't become a team and stop worrying about individual stats, you are going to have a very long season (and I don't mean that literally)! Just ask the Boyd County players how well it works with individual stats.
