My expecations are too high for UK Basketball to have a solid, NOT GREAT but solid recruiting class every year instead of having the likes of Orbzut and Thomas?????

You are right. That is entirely too high. Why in today's world these kids have so many choices that even mid majors are an option. Why you don't see anyone consistently signing top level talent. Most schools are lucky to even sign a couple. We are as good in the eyes of prospects as we have always been. We are UK.

7 of the next 10 are at home and include Chattanooga, Santa Clara, Massachussetts, EKU, Houston, Ole Miss, and Miss St. also are Indiana, Louisville, and Auburn.

 

I think that most average teams will look favorably on this stretch of the schedule.

 

The next 10 include LSU, Alabama, Tenn (2), SC (2), @GA, @Ark, Vandy, and Florida.

 

How many of those should they win?

SOLID class to me is the freshmen we just got. They werent Mc-Donalds AA's but they are atheltic and smart. You cant tell me that the Sr. class even fits this mold of being atheltic ( Orbzut and Thomas ) and basketball smart ( Obrzut and Thomas ). Thomas is very much out of his league when he gets in big time games and for obvious reasons Woo never sees the court for the same reasons. Woo should have never been in a UK jersey because after all the coaching he still cant play with his back to the basket and Sheray thinks he can go in the middle and bang bodies with the likes of Morris and not get pushed around. There are reasons and obvious I might add as to why people have a hard time accepting why these 2 are at UK in the first place. I dont have a lot of gripe with the Sophs because I think Carter has great size in the middle and can be there when Morris gets in foul trouble and is a better basketball athlete in this system than Woo.

It's called parity....UK has lost to the #1, #3 and #17 team, which could be better than the 1 and 3 by years end....Way to early to worry about rankings..Funny how those things always seem to work themselves out in late February.....Look at the supposed powers like Florida losing to Fl St, Kansas losing to Depaul and it goes on and on...Some think it only affects UK and noone else...Thats far from the truth and anyone who thinks a freshman or 2 McD All Americans are going to be the cure all, they're more ridiculous than I thought..Sure they help, but, anyone putting there programs stock on a 1 or 2 year player with no college experience, is in for a big surprise...

I am still trying to figure out why I am be criticized over expecting UK Basketball to get solid recruits annually. Is that such a bad thing considered that UK is #2 in NCAA Titles and #1 all-time in total wins??

I accept parity in college basketball and I think its great but still UK should be near the elite annually. UCLA is still up there, Duke, Florida even thought they have all been beat are still above the level that UK is at. Does anyone think that are freshmen are going to be here 2 years and gone?

Yeah I am just waiting for it as we speak. BLAH BLAH BLAH, I am not a true UK fan because of this and that. Same ole' same ole' we love Tubby and UK Basketball is still elite.

 

And Im tired of hearing that we are not true fans since we do support Tubby...

I support Tubby as well...He's not the greatest recruiter in the world,although, alot better than most think, but, I'll take him on my sidelines anytime...He had a poor year recruiting with this years Sr class and Soph class...His Freshman class and Jr class were well above average and prior years recruiting classes were solid...The problem with it now is between these 2 poor classes, defections to the NBA, transfers and poor grades, they're a little thinner than normal...With that said, I still think by the middle to end of the year, you'll see a totally different looking team, once everyone realizes there role and the rotation gets more in place...

It's ok, Ramel Bradley said tonight on the news that the Cats still believe they're the best team in the country and they're excited to get out and prove it. :thumb:

Yak, if that little boy in the picture is your son, I hope you don't really get that worked up over UK winning or losing games in November and December. Seriously, is it really that big of a deal?

If you expect UK to never be ranked below 40th, are those unrealistic expectations? We all know that the reason many of us are concerned is because we are not very realistic in our expectations.

 

I don't think its unrealistic at all to expect UK to be ranked in the top 40 every week. North Carolina and Duke don't have any problems with it do they? I can't believe how the entire mindset of UK fans has changed with all the losing. I just hate that mediocre losing mentality.
