I ran the passer ratings using the college formula. I pulled the data from the KHSAA top 30 passing leaders. The list only includes QB's who have played a minimum of 7 games. 3 schools have not submitted or are missing at least 2 or more stat reports so their QB's aren't included which are Meade County, Paul Dunbar, and Pleasure Ridge Park. I combined all the QB's attempts, completions, yards, tds, and interceptions to come up with an aggregate rating of 134.30. If the QB number is higher than that they are out performing the aggregate rating and below that they are under performing the aggregate rating. There are other factors such as strength of schedule, wide receiver drops, and Oline blocking that effect these ratings, but overall give an indication of the quality of the passer.

At face value, Crone for SK isn't overly impressive. Factor in that he's only a Freshmen and it looks little more promising moving forward.

I think he’s very good for a freshman. Has bright future.

Agreed, he has plenty of time to grow into the position.

Sam Young at #6 is one to watch. Just a sophomore, he is connecting on well over 60% of his passes and has a solid TD to INT ratio.

Nice. Thank you TP. I really appreciate it. Kid is having a year for the books !!

I may be bias but I think the freshman has out played a lot of qb’s in the 6a the last three weeks. You have to remember he was playing against 8th graders a year ago.

I witnessed Chase Crone play last night. That kid has unbelievable upside, his decision making is better than 90% of high school seniors and he was throwing dimes all night.

He’s only a FRESHMAN!
