Yep, Fields really isn’t in it. I don’t believe we’ll be able to put Fields numbers up next to Burrow and Tua and be able to make the case for Fields.

Bama has back to back bye weeks coming up before they play LSU. I really, really hope he’s back in time for that game. That will be one of the most highly anticipated matchups of all time with the way the two offenses are right now. Plus I don’t think anyone wants to see a situation where Tua doesn’t play and LSU wins and both teams win out. Because there’s no way you can leave Bama out with their only loss coming to LSU without Tua. They would be taking a spot from a deserving team.

No Pac school is getting in, so it leaves the ACC champ Clemson, B1G champ Ohio State, Big 12 champ Oklahoma and SEC champ LSU or Alabama. I don't forsee any of them losing, so yeah I think it's locked up.

 

Even if Bama loses a close game to LSU without Tua, I don't think a 1 loss Bama jumps and undefeated OU, OSU or Clemson. If one of those three were to lose, then the loser of LSU/Bama would be back in the conversation.

Jonathon Cooler is dealing with lower leg ailment - probably "high ankle" sprain - and might have undergone procedure to enhance healing. OSU has not confirmed.

 

This happened in mid August and he missed the first 4 games of the season.
