Not sure I agree with "should be an easy one for Cooper. Cooper with a running clock." This is a big game for both teams. Don't sleep on Boone. Cooper has to play hard and forget who the opponent is. Play Cooper football.

Agree with footballlife360. Also heard that yet another starting player quit this week. What is happening at Cooper?

They’ll blow Boone out. Ouch that’s 2 starting receivers in one season.

I think this game comes down to how the Boone OC calls the game. If they can establish the run and keep Coopers offense off the field somewhat Boone can win this game. Boone struggles bad stopping the pass. Good luck to both teams.

Rule 13

The offense looked good at Conner. Hopefully it keeps rolling. The defense I think will be too much for Boone. Cooper by at least two touchdowns.

I'm not surprised with players quitting at Cooper. I don't believe that AD should coach a sport also.

It seems to me if a player is willing to quit in the middle of the season on his teammates. Then it is probably in the long run helping make a program better, because if a player quits in the middle on his teammates that shows they are more of a me guy, than a we guy. Which programs with me guys usually don't succeed.

 

As for the coach/AD that coach in 10 years at the program starting from the ground up has led them to a couple district titles. A state championship game. A regional championship, another state semi final appearance, then another year an overtime away from a 3rd regional championship and 3rd state semi final appearance. So seems to me that coach may know a little bit more on what he is doing than what you think. Which over the years for all teams on this website usually comments like what you just made and this may not be you but they come from a parent who's child didn't get to play as much as they would have liked. So parents like to blame the coach, and the coach is an idiot or mean for trying to coach their kid up when their kid wasn't doing what they were suppose to. When the reality is maybe their child wasn't as skilled as they thought, or maybe in practice their child didn't give much effort or do the right things. However, it is always is easier to blame a coach, than their own kid. Which leads to comments like that.

 

I am at a few Cooper home games every year. For each game you see former players stopping by standing on the track behind the team supporting them. Visiting the coaches after the game. So seems to me many players don't share your opinion, and liked playing for him and had success too because they probably bought in. Which getting back to players quitting on their teammates in the middle of the season. That may show the reason why they quit, because they may have been a me guy and didn't want to buy in if I had to guess.

I believe in general not specifically just at Cooper that an AD shouldn't be a coach of a sport in the school. AD is a very demanding job. If a coach is also AD they tend to be more concerned with their own sport. It's like asking an English teacher to help a student in math. If the English teacher isn't skilled in math/not interested in the subject, he/she isn't going to be effective in that area.

As for all the comments about “the AD shouldn’t be a coach”, where was all the complaining when the Jags were winning districts, regionals, and state runner-up titles? Doesn’t seem to be a problem at SK.
