I am fine with it, I draw the line at 69. :thumb:

I was there, watching game #1 for the new 2A district that Beechwood joined (replacing NewCath). Went as I expected. Excellent gameplan by Beechwood. They obviously kept ball away from McClendon as much as possible. He did have the one breakout TD, but that was it. I didn’t see any injuries for either team, so good night IMO.

Here is a snapshot summary of the game:

It was Beechwood in all three aspects of the game - offense, defense and special teams. Beechwood was able to score after only one minute on a blocked punt and return for TD by Cole Stammer. Stammer (8-45), as the primary Tiger ball carrier, found the end zone twice from 16 and 2 yards and had a INT on defense. QB Cameron Hergott (9-12-174-2-0) had a very efficient evening finding Mason Williams (2-72-1) and Brady Moore (3-23-1) for scores while rushing for a 16 yard TD as well. Williams also had a 35 yard INT return for a TD. Beechwood reserves also found the end zone in the second half after the running clock began.

For the Indians, QB Javier Ison (7-14-122-1-2) found WR Brandon McClendon (3-104-1) for a 62 yard TD late in the first quarter.

Holy Cross (2-5) will stay at home to host Newport (6-2) on 10/18. Beechwood (3-4) will stay on the road next week to face Lloyd (5-2).
