Who wins this matchup? Raceland will be out to prove something this week after a huge loss to 3A Russell.

Raceland 28

Rowan County 27

Raceland 35-14

Who will be playing QB for Raceland?

Who will be playing QB for Raceland?

Sophomore Connor Hughes. He's undersized and inexperienced, but he has some upside. Decent looking arm from what I can tell and great mobility.

Rowan's got some size and they like to run the football. That combination has been rough on the Rams through two games. Plus, the Vikings are confident. They're 2-0 for the first time in eight years and they've run right through Morgan and Bath. Obviously those teams are not Raceland, but Rowan's got to feel good about how they've played thus far.

But like I said in another thread, Raceland kids are tough and resilient. They got beaten up the other night in a way they're not accustomed to, and that drubbing has triggered a lot of doom and gloom chatter about the Rams this season. As proud as Raceland football is, I'm sure those players and coaches can't wait to get back out there and wash Saturday's after taste out of their mouths and silence the critics. Given the DNA in that community, I think there's very little chance the Rams roll over and die. They'll show up in Morehead ready to prove something.
