Ryle/Oldham County Scrimmage Updates

Featured Replies

I thought Ryle would be better this year. Looks like they are showing it tonight.

Oldham didn’t look like themselves tonight. They looked scared almost the whole night. I have to give credit we’re credit is do, Ryle looked great. They basically did whatever they wanted on Offense and Oldham just looked tired pretty much the whole night. I hope this is a wake up call to Oldham that there not in 5a anymore and there not playing teams like Nelson county where if didn’t give your full effort, you still probably would’ve won. They better learn fast or this game next week vs Eastern could get ugly.

Oldham scrimmaged both DeSales and Ryle. How would you compare those 2 schools?

Oldham County is a very well coached team, they will be fine in 6A.

Any word on who the Raiders had starting out quarterback @OGRaidersman?

Stanken saw a good bit of time at QB last year...led the team in passing yards even, but he's listed only as a receiver on Ryle's 2019 roster, and I don't believe he saw any action as QB in the Bryan Station scrimmage. Worley did a great job last year as quarterback on the freshman level, and he and junior QB Lyons both saw a decent amount of time in the Bryan Station scrimmage.

I would also be interested to know how England looked at RB. Wishing him a good season.

Mike Fox is doing a fantastic job at Oldham....I think this was an excellent preseason scrimmage for the Colonels against what should be a top-flight Raider team. Oldham has played in the state's largest class before and had tremendous success in the early 2000s....after going through several lean years, Mike Fox has them on a comeback (6-5 two years ago and 10 wins last year). We'll see how the team responds to a good learning / teaching moment.

Congrats to Ryle on a nice preseason win heading into the season!
