Here are the teams that are included in the "Lexington/Central Kentucky" area for the football contests:

Allen Sexton TE from Somerset was First team All-State 3

straight years and the leading vote getter his last two years I believe.

 

If we follow the teams from the football contests, it looks like we include Pulaski County/Somerset/Corbin/Etc. in with the eastern Kentucky group. I'm figuring on starting a separate thread for that "all time all-stars" team next week, so I guess we can leave those players for that thread.

 

Danville, Boyle County, and all the teams from Madison County still work in this one though.

Hard to leave Damian Harris off the list... Pretty good running back for Madison Southern and Alabama....

Danville/Boyle County could make an all-star list on their own that could probably compete with any team.

 

Jacob Tamme, Lamar Dawson come to mind immediately

 

Worth looking at from Boyle:

 

Travis Leffew, Bobby Leffew, Taylor Begley (K), Brodie Overstreet

 

Danville would have a long list of possibilities:

 

Chris Jones, Donnie Redd (KR), Sammy Burke, Leonard Coulter, Kevin Turner, Jimmy Baughman (Just to name a few)

Agree on that one if we can dip far enough down to take Somerset. :thumb:

Garrard should be represented by Wilbur Dunn. If he were bigger he would have been Division 1.

 

Harrodsburg: I'd also add Bo Yeast who was a great RB prior to Henry Parks and Nicky.

I would use the old CKC and Lexington as Central Kentucky

 

The old CKC had at one time or another: Boyle, Danville, Henry Clay, Jessamine, Frankfort, Mercer, Harrodsburg, Somerset (Would put them in a Mountains Team since most Mountain fans want to claim them), Woodford County, Anderson County.

 

Scott County ought to be included for this.

I know that many put Jeff Duggins for Boyle at QB here. I think he's the biggest gamer out there but it's hard to see him above Kyle Bolin from Lex Cath.

Lincoln County's Eric Givens played DB for Louisville in the early 80's if memory serves. He was pretty good.

 

QB for the Patriots and led them to be 13-1 his senior year.

Richmond Madison Tackle Keith Bosley. Had a great career at EKU and I think played some pro ball. He helped lead them to the Class A title game in 1979 where they lost to Bellevue 7-0.

Henry Clay had a good O-Lineman when we played them in '78. David Burke I think was his name.

David Buchanan at QB for Mercer County. How could I forget?? :lol2::walk:
