You don't seen to grasp most teams who even win the tournament dont play 6 complete games that they won. Most teams who have won it all, would probably even admit that they may have had one or two at most that they would say yeah we were clicking in all phases of that game. Most of the time they would even admit they just did enough to win that given game.

 

UK so far has done exactly what they have needed to do to win each game. Each game may take something different to win it. Like today it may take the offense scoring more while the defense has an off day. It still wouldn't be a complete game as you like to keep saying. But it would be them once again doing what had to be done to win. Quite honestly imo there is only one team where they will have be to play a complete great game offensively and defensively to win and that is if they see Duke.

 

In this one Texas Tech was trailing mostly all game but in the second half they did exactly what was needed to win again. It wasnt pretty but they did what they had to do to win. Which was holding Gonzaga the top scoring team in the country to almost 20 points below their average. It's all about winning on that given day against that given opponent.

I just don’t understand why everyone is failing to grasp that they barely scraped by against Wofford and Houston. Not every game is going to be complete. Of course not, but it’s going to take much better efforts than what they had in those 2 games to beat Auburn, Virginia, and Tech/Duke/Sparty. This is rocket science. I wanted them to play against Houston in a way that leaves me feeling confident that they can win those 3 games and I didn’t get that.

But since Houston isnt really a known basketball school, it doesnt matter that they were one of the best teams in the nation this year. UK should have easily beat them. So for you a team has to have a big name for it to be ok to be a close game.

UK also missed the tournament one year as well. UK clearly has been better, but again going to back to original context which was conference affiliation hasn’t held Gonzaga back from being an elite program.

That’s so false. UNC and Tennessee were great teams. Anyone with a functioning set of eyes sees that. There’s a reason so many people picked UNC to win the championship. They were the second most commonly picked team after Duke. I would be saying something about barely scraping by UNC team if I thought they were on the level this Houston team was. UNC is a much better team than Houston. Name on the front of the jersey is irrelevant. I honestly don’t even see where you come to that conclusion. It’s about how good the opposing team is. Houston and Wofford this year aren’t as good as UNC this year. You’re just trying to “get” me by bringing up completely irrelevant talking points that I haven’t even mentioned once. I think most have taken your opinion as acting like Houston and Wofford arent good teams. When realistically they are. Also how you completely keep ignoring the fact that Houston was the top defensive team in the country. Yet keep acting like those teams had no business keeping it close with UK. So yes easy to see where people can think your opinion is completely underselling those teams and probably because of the name of their jerseys not being big names.
