March 16, 20197 yr If you're Kentucky, your hope is that Tennessee simply can't do better than this in the second half. 7/9 from three is ridiculous. That Tennessee is only up 3 despite shooting that percentage from deep (and 52% overall) is the only positive you can find for Kentucky.

March 16, 20197 yr Author Big 3 to end the half by Reed Travis the Cats needed that. The Cats survived the hot shooting by the Vols to only trial by 2 at 36-34 at the half.
March 16, 20197 yr Incredibly lucky by Kentucky for Travis to hit a three there at the end. Again, Kentucky down just two, had Washington on the bench for the last 12 minutes, and Tennessee shooting out of their minds for the first half. Kentucky hasn't exactly shot terribly, but there are reasons for optimism for Kentucky. Unless Tennessee keeps shooting that well. In which case, they're going to win this game.
March 16, 20197 yr When Travis shot that three I said “why is he shooting that?” I’m glad he did. Kentucky only down two at the half is good all things considered. I think the Cats pull away late because I can’t see Tennessee shooting like this the whole game and I think PJ will take over in the second half.
March 16, 20197 yr Author Very happy to only be down two with the Vols shooting 53.8% from the field and 77.8% from 3. The Cats are doing a good job on the boards and they got some good minutes from both Montgomery and Richards. Need some more shot making from the trio of Hagans, Herro, and Johnson in the 2nd half and I think the Cats will be fine.
March 16, 20197 yr It's tournament time. You are not going to get open looks out of your usual sets. It's going to take 2 extra passes, an extra cut and kick out, toughness to not settle for tough shots but work harder for good shots.
March 16, 20197 yr Travis 26% on threes for the season. It distresses me in general that he has even attempted one. Doesn't seem to be his shot. Glad he hit that one before half, but even so....
