Congratulations to Newport, they shot very well. White had a nice game, Harding had a monster game, and Miller with a very quite 21.

 

I’d like to see Newport get past Cov Cath and get the chance to go to Rupp. Their seniors have worked hard.

 

Nice game by senior Brenden Ginn, the young man has been a class act and true leader of the Cougars. Looking for big things from Spencer Couzins and Jalen Scott next year.

Conner 29% from the arc, that isnt up to their normal standards. That is the potential issue, and NCAA teams playing in domes deal with it as well. Different depth than shooters are used to.

White dropped an easy 16 tonight as well. Their matchup with CovCath should be a dandy as Newport will have everyone for this one.

I feel like Cooper missed a few easy bunnies in Q3 when game was tied or close. Instead Newport hit their shots including 20 of 24 free throws on the night.

Congrats to Newport! Having nearly 3 players with 20pts each would make it tough for any opponent to win. If Newport gets that same output on Friday it could be a major problem for CCH. Should be a very good game.
