Is the Mercer game at Mercer, the Lexington Herald leader has the game at Owensboro Catholic, but I was under the impression that Mercer had home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Am I wrong in thinking that game is at Mercer or is the Lexington Herald Leader wrong(imagine that)?

 

Unless I am reading it wrong. Khsaa says that even region hosts in even years. Mercer is region 2 this year and OC is region 1, so Mercer hosts.

 

Region 2A-1 - Districts 1 vs. 2 OC

Region 2A-2 - Districts 3 vs. 5 Mercer

Region 2A-3 - Districts 4 vs. 6 Russell

Region 2A-4 - Districts 7 vs. 8 Belfry

I think Mercer got a break with OC beating Trigg....Trigg could have matched up better in the lines and are a more physical team thats solid defensively.. OC may be a little harder to defend because of there passing ability but have a tendency to be a more finesse team and that could play right into Mercers hands...

Two years ago at Corbin, OC brought 1500 to the game which was a 4 1/2 hour trip for us. I think this is a 2 1/2 hour trip so distance isn't a problem

Ft. Campbell said the same thing last year against us at their home.

I like Mercer and Belfry in the finals....OC has a decent team but aren't what they have been the past few years and the other game is a tossup, but, I just feel Belfry may be hitting there stride at the right time...

 

True about OC but everyone said we were down the past 2 years after the '03 season with Barnard, Wathan, Lanham, and the Martin twins. Mercer's tough but we aren't afraid. We've been underdogs before.

I would plan on a 2:45-3 hour drive from Owensboro to Mercer. I do some hunting down that way. It's a haul.

Russell had some problems tackling last night. They wiill not get away with that against the Red Army. This will be a dandy.

Don't worry. Our bite is pretty nasty too. The Titans don't care about Russell or Belfry. They are focused on Owensboro Catholic right now. Mercer is focused on one game.
