November 17, 200619 yr In essence, if one wishes to call Pelosi a liar, based on the difference between her statements and her actions, then they may well be justified in doing so. Hopefully, those that choose this path don't have a history on this site of defending DeLay - lest they be seen as hypocrites. I find it every bit as hypocritical that those that were calling for Delay's head are now finding ways to defend Pelosi's actions. I have maintained from day 1 that if someone is guilty of malfeasance that they should be punished. The only way that I in any way shape or for defended Delay was in saying he should be tried in a court of law rather then in the court of public opinion. That still hasn't happened. Alcee Hastings was impeached (as far as I know only the 6th fereral judge ever impeached) and removed from the bench. If his constituents are stupid (yes that's what I mean) enough to keep electing him there is little that can be done BUT when the not yet seated Speaker of the House publically accuses the other party of deep seated corruption, vows that her House will be the cleanest, most transparent ever and among her first likely appointments are this person, that hypocrisy of the worst kind. The fact that he will be chairing the Intelligence Committee with a history of having opinion swayed with money not only makes me angry it scares me.

Just so we're clear, you'll have a hard time finding me defending Pelosi on much of anything. My goal is simply consistency: that we have a two-way street when in comes to doling out criticism.
