January 12, 20197 yr Author Pretty good size crowd. I'd guess about 6,500 or so. Seemed pretty into the game.
January 12, 20197 yr Crowd was awesome. Tate is playing like a star lately. He realized the Hughes guy for Wright State had no business being on the floor with him and just took him to the hole time after time after time in the second half. How about the stones on McDonald on that late triple? Drew had a huge game once again. The Love kid for Wright State would be unstoppable if he had any basketball skill whatsoever. He’s a freaking tank, but goodness that’s literally all he has in his repertoire. Thought the T on Djoko was horrible. Vogt is really starting to come along the last few games. He gave some valuable minutes in the first half.
January 12, 20197 yr Author 5,848 is what I’m seeing for attendance. Guess I was a little high. Still a solid attendance number. Hope many had a great time and come back.
January 12, 20197 yr That end of the game in bounds play by NKU was on sportscenter highlights. Interesting play. NKU lined all 5 guys along the baseline spaced evenly from sideline to sideline. When the ref handed the ball to the player throwing it in, the other guys took off running in bounds like they were running gassers then turned to receive the pass.

When I coached Freshman bball at Highlands with Ben Franzen, he ran something very similar occassionally. Obviously screwed up D-1 players, imagine what it would do to HS freshmen. Cool to see it on Sportscenter with SVP.

It eliminates the defenses ability to face guard and almost guarantees, if you run it properly, you’ll get the ball inbounded.

It was an awesome play, which resulted in a wide open layup or dunk.... which they DIDN'T take. Scratched my head on that one. I realize there were only about 10 seconds left, but they were only up 3 at the time. At any rate, Go Norse!
January 12, 20197 yr Great job by Coach Brannen in the second half, deciding to drive the ball nearly every possession. WSU couldn't guard the Norse M2M. Tate dominated the second half and finished with 19 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast. McDonald had 22 pts, 12 reb, and the huge 3 to put NKU up 5 late. Ugly first half but a grind-it-out win to stay on top of the conference.
January 14, 20197 yr Wright State isn't very good right now. Shocked it was as close as it was. I caught some of this on on TV.
