Hearing that former Phelps head coach, David Jones is headed to Bourbon County.

Anyone confirm or deny?

David denied it a few day ago on facebook. Other than that, not hearing anything

I am not sure he will be hired or not... but I can say with strong certainty that Jones is definitely wanting the job.

I also think it's suspicious that after denying the rumors on the David and Darrell facebook page... they then go to Bourbon County and talk about the basketball team and interview the Bourbon Boys' Basketball HC as being the "adopted team of their page" that caters 99.9% to Eastern Kentucky HAHA.

I will be really shocked if he doesn't end up at Bourbon County. Their was a reason he resigned from Phelps. I would say the job is his, just waiting to make it public.

They do things a little different in Bourbon County, it would be tough for a coach from Eastern KY to succeed at Bourbon Co. in my opinion. They ran Hilton out of town, Chuke Williams lasted 3 years? Poynter was pretty successful. You would have to give Jones at least 6-8 years.

Not sure you've got a real handle on Bourbon Co. football mentality. Mediocrity has been acceptable more often than not.

Bourbon Co. was not given any favors in their district. Boyle, LexCath, and Anderson Co. Looking at the KHSSA website, they are the smallest 4A school. It's going to be a tough 4 years.

Word is now he has posted a video saying he has accepted the job.

Hired last night.
