January 8, 20197 yr If done right, the Rousey/Banks match could be awesome. Agreed. Could be match of the night. As an aside, that Brock Lesnar/Braun Strowman segment last night on Raw did absolutely nothing to hype their Rumble match. Strowman clearly forgot his lines or something, but it was one of the worst segments I've seen on WWE in a long time.

I'm of the believe that the decline and putrid state of Raw is a direct result of Vince's insistence that Lesnar be the Champion. It's ruined the entire roster and brand IMO.

I think that's a big part of it. And I think the other part has to do with every other potential star being sacrificed for the push of Roman Reigns. While I really wish that guy nothing but the best, it's not his fault that Vince has had tunnel vision when it comes to him. Strowman was red hot there for a while, but then they turned him heel in an attempt to get a certain kind of fan response for Roman. That push in and of itself was unsuccessful, and now that Roman's gone, there's no one ready to take his place because Vince was solely focused on Roman. Strowman was probably hurt the most of anyone. In regard to Brock Lesnar, I really like him being a part of WWE because he's a huge name and he gets fan reaction. But there's no way he needs to be holding the title, and REALLY no way he needs to be holding the title for as long as he has. The only way I'd ever have a part-time champion is if it's a transitional thing, meaning not a very long reign, and if the rationale is to put someone over. For example, Goldberg won the title in February of 2017 & then lost it less than two months later. Of course, he lost it to Lesnar, which was stupid because the belt went from part-timer to part-timer. But had a full-time guy taken the title off Goldberg, that would have been fine IMO. Lesnar having that title for somewhere around 500 days in the last two years is ridiculous.

I absolutely hated how they kept trying to force Roman Reigns on the fans and always going for the title. With that said Vince may get what he wanted eventually. First of all hopefully Reigns make a full recovery in his real life fight and can get back. However, if he can make it back he probably will then become what Vince wanted him to be. I feel like fans will want to see him be the guy after this real life fight he is going through.
