What a great game! It was great to see Lincoln have such a great season. I hope the Pats hold their heads high, everyone from the area is extremely proud of you. Lincoln will be one to watch next year!

Way to go CARDS! Great job working together and watching out for each other. Despite all the garbage talk throughout the season, we've got to give a hand to the coaches. Nice job adjusting and reading the plays....it looks like you all were prepared :thumb: Although that's not unusual!

I was really impressed with each player finding their groove last night. You all came out on the field as ONE, we could tell that you wanted it! We are extremely proud of you. When you work as a family, as ONE, you can SUCCEED:dancingpa

Cards stun Patriots in OT

STANFORD - The season came down to one play for Lincoln County and George Rogers Clark.

Visiting Clark had a 28-27 lead in overtime after the host Patriots scored here Friday on a 7-yard pass from Levi Rogers to Devon Denson. Lincoln could have gone for a tying extra-point kick. Instead, Lincoln coach Larry French knew he wanted to go for the 2-point conversion - and the win.

Hats off to French for going for the win and not the tie, great season pats!

He made the decision he thought gave them the best chance to win the game. I probably would have kicked, but the Patriot kicker (while 3-for-3 on the night), looked a little shaky. I don't know why Lincoln ran the exact same play on the 2-point conversion that they did to score the touchdown. I thought Calhoun probably should have got a touch.

It was certainly a gutsy call. As for running the exact play, I guess you keep running what is working!! Their pass was working well- GRC's #9 just had that one pegged at that time. This is what makes Coach French a great coach- and teacher to his staff and players- and someone who will be leading Lincoln into more successful seasons. This was a great game that could have gone either way!! Either team would have represented our District well. Fans of both teams should be very proud.

It had nothing to do with the kicker. Braxton Miller was injured which changed things for the Patriots offensively AND Lincoln wasn't sure they could stop GRC defensively. Lincoln's best shot at winning the game was going for two.

Congrats to GRC and their main supporter (and one of my favorite BGP posters), gold sunrise! Go get Henry Clary.

Well, .. the team I picked to win the district did it when it counted most.

Congrats to GRC! Congrats to Lincoln County on a GREAT season! Coach French and Coach Gooch (Montgomery) and my co COY's for 2006!

It wasn't the same play, similar but not exact, we threw it to two different tight ends in a double tight set. The throw just happened to be in the same spot. Congrats Lincoln players on a great season, and congrats to GRC for staying calm even when we came back from 21-7 to tie it up. Thanks to all the Lincoln fans for the support this year, it was a great ride through the regular season. I just hope we can keep up the school pride and the student support through the rest of the sports season this year.

Great win for Clark County. Now our favorite p.a. announcer will get one more game this year.

Congrats to GRC. This was the most exciting game I have watched all year. Good luck to GRC next week, you guys have the talent and heart to match up with HC....."GET-R-DONE".

Congrats to the LC team .... What a great year, the team exceeded everyones expectations! Shrek, it was your class that laid the foundation for this year...going 5 & 5 last year and losing several close games:thumb:
