Fewer Republicans are trained to consider themselves victims. When Republican candidates lose, they tend to believe that it was their own fault, as do their supporters. When Democrats lose, they are more likely to believe "they was robbed." I don't expect to hear George Allen to claim that he was cheated, and he is already on record as saying that he will not drag out the process. (Although there would be nothing wrong with him asking for a recount considering the small winning margin.)

 

Republicans lost Congress Tuesday and they deserved to lose it. Democrats have done nothing to deserve the win, but more people decided that they were the lesser of two evils in this round of elections.

HBO was preparing scare everybody when the special Hacking Democracy aired last week. I'm glad to see a documentary on this and am glad that there are watchdogs on this subject. My only question is why did they wait until the week before the election to air this special? To depress turnout?

You are entitled to your opinion about Democratic victimology, or the lack thereof - as am I. If you don't believe telling constituents that they were robbed after narrow electoral losses or that certain groups need lower standards applied to college and job applications because their ancestors were discriminated against promotes a culture of victimhood among Democrats then feel free to disagree.

 

However, you are mistaken about my deliberate grammatical error. The mistake was inadvertent. I meant to say, "We was robbed."

yes, like stated above, when Reps lose its their fault. When dems lose its always some people were kept from voting, ballots that were "confusing", and the list goes on.

After the 2000 election, Jesse Jackson complained about all the antiquated voting machines in heavily Democratic cities and how it disenfranchised voters. In this election cities like Atlanta, Baltimore, and Detroit had more of the new electronic voting machines. What does Jesse do? Yesterday I heard him complain about these new machines in heavily Democratic cities implying there is some grand conspiracy to disenfranchise Democratic voters in these cities. I am firmly convinced that if you asked Jesse Jackson what needed to be done for a fair election and he listed 1000 items, and each of those 1000 items were met in the next election he would produce 1000 new items why somebody was disenfranchised just so he could put forth the charge.

I know that Jackson can wear on your nerves (he gets on mine, as well), but you can't judge an entire political party by guys like Jackson.

 

It would be the same if I were to hold all Republicans responsible for some of the looney tune antics of Pat Robertson or Ann Coulter.
