Forgive me if I have harsh feelings toward him after having to worry about my brother getting killed in Iraq because of his incompetent stewardship of the war. And I don't see how anyone could say he's anything but a jerk, given his personality. Curious how your brother feels about it?!

Well, considering his four years were up in April '05, yet they let him out three months before that, at a time when pretty much every other soldier was having their deployments extended, I think it's safe to say he was at least as outspoken as I. And just so we're clear, because I know others might have it in their mind, they don't let soldiers who are in trouble or not doing a good job — the type who would receive a less than honorable discharge — be quoted in national magazines (Esquire) and on NPR, as well as several other national newspapers. My brother was quoted numerous times during his stays in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Rumsfeld went to work everyday fighting for what he believed was the right thing for this country. I do think Bush sacrificed the lamb here tho. He only did was GW asked him to. Lets wait and see what happens.

Lets wait and see what happens. So, it was Bush's idea to send an inadequate troop complement into Iraq? I thought it was Rumsfeld's brainchild to try to fight this war on the cheap, both in terms of troop numbers and equipment. :confused:
