Remember the name RJ Rucker. He is a Jr for GRC and I look for him to be the other starting guard. He is Preston Knowles cousin and he can shoot the ball.

So that doesn't make much sense. If he is top 10, he's top 10. Regardless of where he plays and his height. Funny how he averaged more and anyone in the NKY region except Allen (Pendleton) and still not top 10. Not sure who does the rankings, but the marginalization of smaller schools is ridiculous. School choice should not play into talent recognition. If you can play, you can play. He has more than proven himself. He has to show out this season though to get any looks. Best of luck to him and hope to get out and see him play this season at some point.

Did you mean to quote someone? You don’t mention which player you felt was overlooked.

I thought I was replying to a quote. My bad. I was replying to a thread about Mason Rusch. I will re apply to the quote.

Talent-wise, he's definitely top 10.

point.QUOTE=XregCoach;6637545]Only reason Mason Rusch isnt in the Top 10 to watch is 1) He's sub 6 foot, 2) He plays at Calvary Christian.

In this situation, I agree with you. MR can play and he has good skill and leadership ability. However, scoring can’t be the sole descriptor of a top player in the region. I know kids who have left bigger schools and gone to smaller schools just to get more touches and more points.

I didn’t rank the players by points scored. I’m not sure how much Rusch has improved from last year, but after thinking more about I wonder if I should have put him in the top 10. But the 10 I have were still very good.

The school they went to had absolutely no bearing on my rankings. However, strength of schedule and field goals taken in all those points scored did.

How many shots per game does he take to average the points per game?? There’s a lot of other players in NKY area that play for bigger schools that can’t take 25-30 shots per game. Frederick and Kunkle last year I would assume took 12-15 shots per game.

We need to stick with the 10th Region in this thread.

Rusch does have a good Field Goal % of about 50%. Taking about 20 shots a game. Added with Free throws that’s pretty dang good.

Spencer Macke had 50 points and 19 rebounds in his scrimmage the other day for Silver Grove. Dontaie Allen and Mason Rusch will have grand time trying to beat that lol.
