NKY Area Banks

That’s very interesting. What exactly do you have to go in the bank once a week for? I do 100% of my banking online, but I’m always curious how other people do things.

We use cash for almost all day to day expenditures. So we’re going in quite frequently to get cash out. Most times we need amounts that are not multiples of 20, so ATM doesn’t do it for us.

So do you just have a weekly budget and just withdraw that amount once a week and then if you have any other expenditures you make a separate trip? Is it just a personal preference?

More or less.

We've found it's a lot easier to stay on budget if we use cash instead of our debit cards.

It still amazes me that institutions charge people to use their products. Then again, that's one of the reasons why credit unions are better than banks, IMO.

I don't know enough about credit unions to have an opinion one way or another, I just know there's almost none in the NKY area.

There are at least a half dozen or so CU's in NKY. But I think they are all single location. It's worth having an account with a CU, simply for borrowing purposes, especially auto loans. In your case though, it sounds like you are strictly cash, so the lack of convenience is probably a big issue.

Yep. The borrowing aspect doesn't factor in for me. That is the one major benefit I've heard of for CUs.

If they are close to you, Victory Community Bank has been pretty easy to use. We got an account with them when we did a mortgage and a bridge loan with them.

We use Heritage and there are zero fees.

Same here. Best Bank I've ever been involved with. And I've been around a year or two . . . Customer service is impeccable.
